Facebook's $1 Fee
I will have two plans of action. I will either friend them or I will post a message on my own page asking anyone who knows them to please have them email me off the facebook grid. It's not the price, it's the principal of the thing. I don't like charges added because someone didn't have a good business model in place. Just my two cents...

Hackers Finally Did Something Right!
The WBC recently announced that they would picket the funerals of the kindergarteners who were killed in the Newtown massacre stating that God sent the shooter to teach them a lesson. Who a lesson? God does not kill innocent children to get even with people who don't even know them. If you notice, the WBC pickets everyone but the people they are apparently against, or are they simply against everyone?
By hacking their website and putting out their personal information online anonymous "Outed" the members of the WBC, putting their personal information online. These people should have been stopped long ago. Free speech is one thing, but they are constantly practicing slander and defamation of character. Those two things are both illegal but no one has prosecuted any member of the WBC for constantly practicing both. Hopefully Anonymous will dog this group the way they dog the innocents of the world.

Spending a few minutes reading their "beliefs" makes you think David Koresh (Branch Davidian Cult) was fairly normal by comparison. The Westboro group clearly hates everyone who is not one of them. They are a discrace to the human race.

Harry Belefonte and His Advice
The video going around the internet of Harry Belefonte's comments are a disturbing look at how some of Obama's backers feel. Belefonte is a man who has enjoyed the freedoms that America holds for it's citizens. For him to suggest we revert to third world behavoir is anti - American as it goes against everything America as a nation strives for both for itself and others. What has caused Belefonte to become so very vile in his thoughts? As a person of wealth in America (his estimated wealth is approximately $28 Million) why would he suggest we lower ourselves to third world behavior? Is that where we are headed with the mind set of Obama's supporters? As a well spoken man you would have thought he would have something intelligent to say, Instead he throws question on his mindset. Some have said it's his age. That is an excuse unless an illness is involved. As an older man of wealth and status in America he should be greatful for a country where he was free to build his business and his career. As a young child I remember hearing Harry Belefonte's name and seeing him perform. He always seemed like a person to look up to. Now I feel bad that someone who was so well treated by America has turned on it and it's freedoms.

Anti Union Vote In Michigan - Good For America
We have OSHA to keep the work place safe. We have general laws to make wages fair. We do not need unions to bully the American business owner. Unions are no longer relevant, they are bullies and a puppet of the political parties they partner with. The sooner unions are dismantled the sooner more jobs come back to America, and the political field becomes less cloked in back room favors.
Again, Thank you Michigan!

Walmart And What I Saw There - Part 2
Large woman in a motorized cart, rather unkempt, wearing a t-shirt made to look like a shirt that someone working a concert event would wear...The shirt said "No Booze Beyond This Point, hand it all over to me."
I wanted to go up to the woman and inform her I wasn't buying it and no one else would either, but then I thought if she had just started shopping the cart would have fresh batteries and perhaps she could catch me if I ran from her. Plus, there was an equally large man with her who looked like he could make me sorry for ever bringing up the shirt to the woman in the first place.

Text Messages - A Milestone in Messaging
I remember the first time I was offered a text plan with my cell phone package I asked "Why?" It wasn't something I ever thought I would want to use. I had a cell phone to call people and I had email. Was I wrong! I use my smart phone for everything, but most of all for texting. I text a lot, as much for work as socializing. In closing there are two thoughts to leave you with: Don't text while driving, and Merry Christmas.

Walmart And What I Saw There - Part 1
One of the things that jump out at you are the large number of Walmart shoppers using the motorized shopping carts. The carts are great for those who have trouble getting around because of injury or illness but it's irritating to see the large number of people who are simply too fat and lazy to be bothered with walking. Don't they see that this behavoir of driving around lazily is a prime example of what has caused them to become so obese in the first place?
Who tries harder?
I recently saw a quote that stated "women who want equality with men aren't aiming high enough." I can agree with that, but for the most part, the comparison is apples and oranges.
Two very different types of thinkers. The argument could go on forever. Are women equal? Not always, but that being said it's not always unequal to a woman's disadvantage.

Missing Mexicans Will Turn Up In USA - Opinion
Personally 25,000 missing sounds less like drug cartel activity and more like illegal immigrants coming in to the US. It is not as if those crossing the borders illegally are going to leave a note saying where they have gone.
The Twinkie, The Stage Deli, Where Will It End?
From The New York Post:
They’ve served their last pastrami sandwich.
The iconic Stage Deli closed its doors for the last time at midnight on Thursday, ending 75 years of serving up overstuffed sandwiches named for celebrities such as Mel Brooks, Derek Jeter and Adam Sandler.
“It was a shock to me when I came in and saw it,” said Dennis Howard, 71, a manager of the Carnegie Deli, a friendly competitor a block south on Seventh Avenue. “They had the best location in the world.”
The deli was shuttered last night, but a handwritten sign on the door said: “Thanks for 75 years.”
Stage Deli owners could not be reached for comment.
The loss of the New York landmark left fans hungry for more.
“I used to go on Saturdays between shows with another colleague, and they let me have a half sandwich. It was my favorite,” said Manuel Levine, 79, of Manhattan.
Fiscal Cliff: A Real Problem Or Part Of The Overall Plan?
To keep people diverted from the real issue it's important to keep them focused anywhere but the main . The Fiscal Cliff is a real problem, but is it the most important?
What happened to our world while Al Gore was playing "the sky is falling" with his global warming? There are underlying issues that stand to make the United States, founded on Christian principals, unrecognizable. Those of us who are generational Americans are losing our grasp on America as it falls into the hands of those who do not embrace it or what it stands for but only want to commandeer it for what they can destroy within it's borders.

Tourtured Puppies And Kittens
This couple was indicted for torturing and killing puppies and kittens. That is not enough. Laws need to be stricter. They should be put to death in the same manner. If you attack the innocent you are capable of harming anything.

Postal Service Still May Need To Eliminate Saturday Delivery
Instead of making more people under employed (if that's what it will do), why not charge more for junk mail? Junk mail is still big business for the companies that send it. Up the cost a little and make a bigger profit from it. Also, what happened to the days when postal employees walked their entire route? Have them walk instead of dragging their vehicle along with them (parking it every few blocks as many do now) and they won't need a health club membership.
I think business people will see no Saturday delivery as nothing more than a reason to use other methods of delivery be it electronic or private carrier. In a world of "Want it NOW" waiting an extra day is not an option for success.

Angus T. Jones Apologizes - Sort Of
US Military A Victim Of Fiscal Cliff Talks?
As a nation we have to have the same preparedness. It would be great if our military never had to use their weapons. It would be horrible to have an untrained, unprepared military. If America ever comes under attack we must be prepared. The less prepared we are the more our enemies will see we are vulnerable. Why would anyone looking out for The United States put us in harms way by cutting spending to the military?
It's a question that seriously needs to be asked. And not put away until a satifactory answer is received.
Did Angus T Jones just Apply for Unemployment?
Angus T. Jones who has played the role of Jake Harper on Two And A Half Men for the last nine years (so since he was about ten) has reportedly given an interview where he claims the show is filth and wants people to stop watching it. I agree the show is filth but is it his good sense, his firm religious beliefs, over the top religious beliefs, or a hoax that have caused these comments? If he truly feels that way why did he sign a contract the last time it was optioned? How long did he sign on for at the last re-up, and if his statements are real has he violated some part of his contract by bashing the show. These are the questions that should be asked by the news media instead of doing fluff pieces about his comments. Is there no one who does investigative journalism anymore? Even on a Hollywood fluff piece?

A Great Yardstick Quote
I had never heard this quote before. It can apply to so many situations.
Hewlett Packard - Rude Customer Service Karma?
Many months later I got the HP laptop out and rebooted it just to see what would happen. I get a message that the laptop is under recall. I immediately call the company only to be told the recall is no longer valid. I explaind the whole story of what happened previously and was told that it was too bad, and that it was my fault for not insisting they open "a ticket" on the problem. I argued politely but firmly that it was HP that was at fault. The man finally said "we will fix it." I said, "Really? You will?" He replied, "Yes, just send us the laptop and $289.00" He was rather smug. I said I was currently using an ACER laptop that was half the cost of my HP and that before I sent them any money to repair the faulty HP laptop I would add $50 to the $289 and buy another ACER. As a side note, my cheap acer is STILL working well. He continued to give me attitude and said it was not their fault I missed the recall (even though I tried to tell them of the problem initially). I finally said, just forget it, and that thanks to their customer service I would NEVER buy another HP product. I told him he was rude and he worked for a sham of a company and I could hardly wait to see HP go down in flames because it wouldn't last with customer service like I had been shown. At the time the company was still a top company. Today, I sit writing on my trusty ACER and watching HEWLETT PACKARD as a company suffer a major meltdown. I would like to think I am just that powerful, but actually, It's just simple Customer Service Karma. Muwahaha!

Hostess Closing, Twinkie Lovers Sad
This From The Company Website, Hostessbrands.com:
Hostess Brands is Closed.
We are sorry to announce that Hostess Brands, Inc. has been forced by a Bakers Union strike to shut down all operations and sell all company assets. For more information, go to hostessbrands.info. Thank you for all of your loyalty and support over the years.
HOSTESS BRANDS TO WIND DOWN COMPANY AFTER BCTGM UNION STRIKE CRIPPLES OPERATIONS Friday, November 16, 2012 at 7:00AM Irving, TX – November 16, 2012 – Hostess Brands Inc. today announced that it is winding down operations and has filed a motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court seeking permission to close its business and sell its assets, including its iconic brands and facilities. Bakery operations have been suspended at all plants. Delivery of products will continue and Hostess Brands retail stores will remain open for several days in order to sell already-baked products.
€ The Board of Directors authorized the wind down of Hostess Brands to preserve and maximize the value of the estate after one of the Company’s largest unions, the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM), initiated a nationwide strike that crippled the Company’s ability to produce and deliver products at multiple facilities.
On Nov. 12, Hostess Brands permanently closed three plants as a result of the work stoppage. On Nov. 14, the Company announced it would be forced to liquidate if sufficient employees did not return to work to restore normal operations by 5 p.m., EST p.m., Nov. 15. The Company determined on the night of Nov. 15 that an insufficient number of employees had returned to work to enable the restoration of normal operations.
The BCTGM in September rejected a last, best and final offer from Hostess Brands designed to lower costs so that the Company could attract new financing and emerge from Chapter 11. Hostess Brands then received Court authority on Oct. 3 to unilaterally impose changes to the BCTGM’s collective bargaining agreements.
Hostess Brands is unprofitable under its current cost structure, much of which is determined by union wages and pension costs. The offer to the BCTGM included wage, benefit and work rule concessions but also gave Hostess Brands’ 12 unions a 25 percent ownership stake in the company, representation on its Board of Directors and $100 million in reorganized Hostess Brands’ debt.
“We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike,” said Gregory F. Rayburn, chief executive officer. “Hostess Brands will move promptly to lay off most of its 18,500-member workforce and focus on selling its assets to the highest bidders.”
In addition to dozens of baking and distribution facilities around the country, Hostess Brands will sell its popular brands, including Hostess®, Drakes® and Dolly Madison®, which make iconic cake products such as Twinkies®, CupCakes, Ding Dongs®, Ho Ho’s®, Sno Balls® and Donettes®. Bread brands to be sold include Wonder®, Nature’s Pride ®, Merita®, Home Pride®, Butternut®, and Beefsteak®, among others.
The wind down means the closure of 33 bakeries, 565 distribution centers, approximately 5,500 delivery routes and 570 bakery outlet stores throughout the United States.
The Company said its debtor-in-possession lenders have agreed to allow the Company to continue to have access to the $75 million financing facility put in place at the start of the bankruptcy cases to fund the sale and wind down process, subject to U.S. Bankruptcy Court approval.
The Company’s motion asks the Court for authority to continue to pay employees whose services are required during the wind-down period.
For employees whose jobs will be eliminated, additional information can be found at hostessbrands.info . The website also contains information for customers and vendors. Most employees who lose their jobs should be eligible for government-provided unemployment benefits.
